This Sanyo VPC-GH2 Camcorder is Superior than a Flip — this small pocket camcorder is packed with characteristics you’d expect in a lot more high priced camcorders. However, the only two considerably valuable characteristics are the electronic stabilization and swingout Lcd. When compared with Flip-style camcorders or digital cameras with fixed Lcd viewfinders you can shoot valuable hand-held movie from a selection of positions not having the shakes.
- The auto-focus runs good, giving you superior composition compared to fixed-focus Flips. Turn on macro concentrate and you can shoot small bugs 1cm away.
- The 5x optical zoom runs fine but its tiny button is hard to command, specifically while in one-handed shooting. The GH2 is effortless to run with all the right hand: flip the Lcd having a pinkie, press the top record button with all the thumb, shoot from the hip.
- Audio is surprisingly fine due towards microphone placement for the Lcd cover, facing your topic.
- The flash is good for having indoor stills, with even now picture good quality comparable to other modest digital cameras.
- Battery lifetime is ok, I got 1.five hours in SD shooting (a static shot). However, in “field use” recording clips in High definition, having several flash pictures, and using concentrate and zoom, I get about 45min battery lifetime.
- Reduced light picture good quality is average (as all camcorders are) but turn for the “high gain” element and you are likely to capture usable movie that most camcorders won’t get.
- Manual characteristics offered created me LOL! There’s a whole lot. You may have got to understand the manual a couple of times.
- Image good quality is very fine. Shots taken at 1080i setting viewed on a 52″ 1080i Tv seem good, with fine detail and color. The GH2 records 1080i movie at about 17Mbits/s. You may need to have a decent pc to edit High definition files.
- Webcam: Fixed at VGA size @15fps and no manual command it’s a very simple webcam.
Cons:
- Bugs: the GH2 locked up on me as soon as — popping the battery cures it.
- Construction: the GH2 feels like an significant clamshell cellphone. Not as robust being a Kodak Zx1, for illustration. Just do not drop it.
Overall a good worth inside a handy tiny package.
