Angel’s Lair B&B Receives Sought-After Distinction

September 16, 2004 — The Angel’s Lair B&B, Bay City, Michigan has received the sought-after distinction as a member of the Michigan Lake to Lake Bed and Breakfast Association (ML2L). ML2L is a trade association that represents the finest Inns and Bed & Breakfasts in the state of Michigan. The organization represents over 210 members, camping bed, found in 140 cities all across Michigan. Before being granted membership, an Inn must pass an on-site inspection and meet a rigorous code of standards that are under, camping bed, continual review by the ML2L association review board.

Michigan Lake to Lake believes that the most important standard for Bed and Breakfast innkeepers and their staff is friendly, personal, warm, and conscientious attention to guests. We wanted to create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation โ€” a place to rest your weary soul,โ€ emphasizes Linda VanPELT.Built in the mid-1880′s the Eastlake Victorian provides an intimate atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and pampered. Surrounded with antiques, Old World decorations, whirlpools and angels, guests enjoy a calming retreat in the well-appointed and charming rooms of the Lair.

From fresh flowers to rococo and wrought-iron bed frames and hand-ironed sheets, every detail to make a guest’s visit memorable has been considered. Guests awaken at their selected breakfast to the aroma of home-baked breads and bagels that complement, camping bed, a hearty breakfast served on fine china with linen tablecloths under the golden glow of the tin ceiling in the dining room. Three of the five guestrooms are named after archangels โ€” Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.

The remaining rooms are named after grandchildren Hunter and MacKenzie. The rooms are filled with unique items such as 19th century books, bed frames, antique angel lamps and other accessories. The MacKenzie room features skylights over a whirlpool tub, Raphael and Hunter also come with hot-air whirlpool tubs and unique views.โ€œWe were both born in Bay City. Dan took me to his Junior Prom at the Wenonah, camping bed, Hotel.

We went our separate ways in high school, reconnected,, camping bed, and married in 1995. After that, we drove to Bay City every weekend for several years,โ€ says Linda VanPELT. โ€œI wanted to move back home and live in one of the houses I used to dream about when I was a girl. There are so many late 19th century Victorian homes in the area โ€” but very few were for sale. We finally found this one, but, camping bed, we didn’t realize just how well it fit into our plans until we were working on the bedrooms.

Then there’s the old movies and concerts at the State Theater, and Wenonah Park also features concerts, the River Roar โ€” seen on ESPN every year and festivals galore โ€” like the Pig Gig an international rib cook-off. We have a Wine Walk, River of Time historical camp enactment, Arts in the Park and an excellent Tour of (Historical) Homes every October.โ€โ€œWe are so glad to be back home we couldn’t have chosen a better place โ€œto rest our weary souls,โ€ we’re glad to be giving others a chance to do the sameโ€ adds the Inn’s owners.
